Audacy at the Gracies Gala
Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, and Amanda Doyle Honored as Best Lifestyle Podcast Co-host/Ensemble
The stars shone in Los Angeles at the Alliance for Women in Media’s 49th Gracie Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The event uplifting the outstanding women in media celebrated the honorees in the National TV, National Radio, Non-Commercial Syndicated Radio, and National Digital Media categories.
We Can Do Hard Things hosts Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, and Amanda Doyle were recognized as the winners of the Best Lifestyle Podcast Co-host/Ensemble. Glennon and Abby were in attendance to receive the award.
“Rooms like tonight, nights like this one matter,” Abby said in her acceptance speech. “…I want to acknowledge and affirm the little girl inside all of us that was told, ‘You can’t do it because you’re a girl.’ Tonight, I tell that little girl, ‘Yes, you can. Yes, you can.'”
Glennon highlighted the importance of self-advocacy in healthcare in her remarks, sharing her sister Amanda’s story of early cancer detection: “Because of our conditioning it’s hard to advocate on behalf of ourselves, but I assure you that my sister’s self-advocacy is the greatest act of love and service she’s ever done for the world. When she saved herself she saved the life of her children’s mother, her husband’s wife, our parent’s daughter – our sister. She saved so many of us when she saved herself.”
They were in great company, as it was a star-studded night with awards presented to Carol Burnett, Maria Shriver, Phylicia Rashad, and many more.
Susan Larkin, Chief Operating Officer; Jennifer Tobar, Vice President of Sales; and Jeff Federman Regional President and Los Angeles Market Manager, joined the celebration by hosting a table with Audacy’s partners at Katz.
