PHILADELPHIA, PA – July 30, 2025 – Audacy Podcasts today announced that it has partnered with award-winning writer, director, actor, and producer Lena Dunham and writer, historian, and curator Alissa Bennett to handle sales and distribution for their critically acclaimed podcast, “The C-Word,” bringing the previously paywalled podcast to all major podcast platforms for free for the first time. 

The first three episodes of “The C-Word” will be re-released on all podcast platforms on Thursday, July 31, 2025, and one episode will be re-released every Thursday thereafter. Listen to the trailer ​​here and follow the show here

“The C-Word” is an in-depth exploration of culture’s most discussed women—their lives, legacies, and why society is so hell-bent on labeling them “crazy.” Through deeply researched storytelling and candid conversations, Dunham and Bennett unpack how society’s obsession with labeling women has shaped pop culture, media narratives, and public perception. “The C-Word” explores a wide range of figures with empathy, wit, and cultural insight, including Lindsay Lohan, Judy Garland, Mariah Carey, Winona Ryder, astronaut Lisa Nowak, wrestler Chyna, and journalist Janet Cooke, the only person to return a Pulitzer Prize.
