Audacy’s KMOX in St. Louis Honored with National Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Breaking News Coverage

Audacy’s News Radio 1120 AM / 104.1 FM KMOX in St. Louis was honored with a National Edward R. Murrow Award for the station’s wall-to-wall coverage of May 2025 flash floods that struck the St. Louis metropolitan area.

The annual awards, presented by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), recognize outstanding achievements in electronic journalism.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized with a National Murrow Award. This award is a powerful acknowledgement of our team’s deep commitment to the St. Louis community and radio’s unwavering ability to connect listeners when they need it most,” Becky Domyan, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy St. Louis. “When the floods hit, our purpose became clear: provide life-saving information and be a calm, trusted voice in a terrifying moment. We believe in the power of local voices in times of crisis and this recognition validates our team’s hard work in achieving that mission.”

A complete list of National Edward R. Murrow Award winners can be found here. Earlier this year, Audacy was recognized with 25 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards.

Among the most prestigious awards in news, the Murrow Awards recognize local and national news stories that uphold the RTDNA Code of Ethics, demonstrate technical expertise and exemplify the importance and impact of journalism as a service to the community. Murrow Award-winning work demonstrates the excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the broadcast news profession. RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with these awards since 1971.
