Entercom Program Director Greg Williams Inducted Into the Kansas African American Museum Hall of Fame
Williams to Be Honored With Broadcast Journalism Trailblazer Award
PHILADELPHIA, PA – August 21, 2019 – Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., congratulates program director and morning show host of Power 93.5 (KDGS-FM) Greg “The Hitman” Williams for his induction into the Kansas African American Museum (TKAAM) Hall of Fame. Williams will receive the Broadcast Journalism Trailblazer Award by TKAAM at the organization’s annual Trailblazers Gala on October 5 in Wichita, KS.

Trailblazer honorees are leaders, pacesetters and pioneers who have made a significant impact in their respective professions and who have contributed to the community and have made a positive impact. Williams will be honored along with Deltha Q. Colvin, Wichita State University Special Programs Associate Vice President, and Kansas native Gordon Parks posthumously. The theme of the induction ceremony will be “Honoring Our Past, Celebrating Our Present & Embracing Our Future.” Kevin Willmott, Academy Award-winning screenwriter, will serve as the event’s keynote speaker.
Williams is a seasoned radio personality with over 40 years of experience. He joined Power 93.5 as program director and on-air personality in 2000. For over 19 years his morning radio show has been one of the top-rated and most-listened to morning shows in Wichita. Under his leadership, Power 93.5 has been one of Wichita’s longest-running and top-rated contemporary music radio station’s in the city’s history.
Previously, Williams served as an on-air personality for now sister station 103.7 KEYN (KEYN-FM), KKRD-FM and KLEO-AM in Wichita, as well as KCBQ-FM in San Diego.
Williams has been recognized for his extensive career accomplishments, including seven Street Information Network National Radio Awards for Best Program Director and a Gavin Radio Award for Best Program Director in 2003. In 2011, he received multiple recognitions from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters, including top DJ Personality Aircheck and Special Program awards. Williams is very involved in the local community, including serving as a mentor for the Wichita Children’s Home and serves on the board of directors for mentoring organization Real Men Real Heroes.
