98.1 WOGL Host Marilyn Russell to Emcee Annual Event in which Ertz is Named Remarkable Woman of the Year

PHILADELPHIA, PA – December 4, 2019 – Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., today announced that Julie Ertz, midfielder for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup champion U.S. Women’s National Soccer team will be honored as Remarkable Woman of the Year at 98.1 WOGL (WOGL-FM) in Philadelphia’s annual Remarkable Women Luncheon. Ertz will be honored for her accomplishments on the soccer field as well as her charitable efforts with the Ertz Family Foundation. Station morning show host Marilyn Russell will emcee the invite-only event, which will take place on Tuesday, December 10 in Philadelphia from noon to 2:00 p.m.

“I am extremely honored and humbled to accept this award on behalf of the 100-plus women in the Philadelphia community who have been featured on Marilyn’s Russell’s Remarkable Woman program on 98.1 WOGL this year,” said Ertz. “There are so many amazing women doing remarkable things in our community, and Zach and I are proud to call Philadelphia our community too. I have to thank all of the volunteers and donors of the Ertz Family Foundation, as it is their commitment that makes it possible for Zach and me to make an impact here in Philadelphia. Ertz will be accompanied by her husband and Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz and mother-in-law Lisa Ertz, Executive Director of the Ertz Family Foundation. The event is a celebration of the work Russell does throughout the year on “Marilyn Russell’s Remarkable Women,” a weekly show airing Sundays at 6:30 a.m. on 98.1 WOGL and sister stations 96.5 TDY (WTDY-FM) and B101.1 (WBEB-FM). During the show, Russell conducts in-depth interviews with women accomplishing extraordinary feats within the community. The Remarkable Women Luncheon celebrates featured guests for their outstanding achievements.

Ertz is an American soccer player and two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion. She plays midfield for the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). In 2017, Ertz was awarded U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year. Ertz was also just voted to the FIFA FIFPro Women’s World11 2019 team as one of the 11 best soccer players in the world, an honor voted on by thousands of professional soccer players. She is a co-founder of the Ertz Family Foundation along with her husband. Established in 2018, the foundation strives to make a difference in the communities that they serve around the world.
