Entercom and the Los Angeles Unified School District Launch “RADIO.COM’s Feed Our Families”
PHILADELPHIA, PA – August 3, 2020 – Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content, announced the launch of “RADIO.COM’s Feed Our Families,” in partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District, to bring meals to those in need during these difficult times. As part of the partnership, Entercom Los Angeles stations, including 93.1 Jack FM (KCBS-FM), 94.7 The Wave (KTWV-FM), 97.1 AMP Radio (KAMP-FM), K-Earth 101 (KRTH-FM), KNX 1070 News Radio (KNX-AM) and KROQ (KROQ-FM) will participate in the month-long text to donate fundraiser benefitting local students and families in need. From August 3 to 28, the stations will encourage consumers to donate by texting “NEED” to 76278, to provide food donations for Los Angeles Unified families.

“Today we’ll pass another milestone in our food relief program – 50 million meals,” said Austin Beutner, Superintendent, Los Angeles Unified. “The need continues and so will our efforts until students can return to schools. That will take money and while we’ve raised more than $20 million from businesses and individuals, there’s still a gap. I’m grateful for all who are part of this effort as we are truly in this together.”
The funds support Los Angeles Unified’s 63 Grab & Go Food Centers, which have provided more than 50 million meals to those most in need, about one-third of whom are adults, since the program started in March.
