Audacy’s The Bet KC to Serve as Flagship Radio Home for the Kansas City Monarchs

The Bet KC (KWOD-AM), an Audacy station, will serve as the flagship radio station for the Kansas City Monarchs of the American Association of Professional Baseball. As part of the partnership, the station will air all away games, beginning on Friday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. CT when the team takes on their division rival, the Sioux City Explorers.

“The Monarchs’ return to the 1660 AM frequency solidifies Audacy as the destination fans come to for everything Kansas City sports,” said Roxanne Marati, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Kansas City. “We’re excited for this new partnership, to collaborate with the team and provide fans exclusive coverage with the four-time league champions only on The Bet KC.”

“Baseball and the radio just go together, and we’re thrilled to bring the full slate of Monarchs road games to 1660 The Bet for the upcoming season,” said Mark Brandmeyer, Owner, Monarchs. “We’re thrilled to partner with Audacy and are excited to showcase our team on their platforms all season long.”

The Monarchs’ roster this year includes three former Kansas City Royals: hitting coach Christian Colon, outfielder Jorge Bonifacio and pitcher Jake Brentz.

Carter Woodiel is returning as the Voice of the Monarchs for his third season. This season marks his eighth season as a lead broadcaster in the American Association, and his 500th AAPB game will be this May.

Listeners can tune in to The Bet KC (KWOD-AM) in Kansas City on air and nationwide on the Audacy app and website. Fans can also connect with the station online.
