Audacy Raises Over $287,000 for Pediatric Care During “36-Hours for Kids” Radiothon in Richmond

PHILADELPHIA, PA – December 12, 2022 – Audacy raised over  $287,000 to benefit Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) during the annual “36-Hours for Kids Radiothon” in Richmond. Now in its 11th year, this annual radiothon has raised over $2.2 million with support from Big 98.5 (WRXL-HD2), Newsradio WRVA (WRVA-AM/WTVR-HD2), The Fan (WRNL-AM/105.1 FM), Mix 98.1 (WTVR-FM), Q94 (WRVQ-FM) and 106.5 The Beat (WBTJ-FM).

“We are grateful for the generosity of our listeners in their support of CHoR and the families and children the hospital serves in the Richmond community,” said Bennett Zier, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Virginia.  “We are also thankful for the contributions of the many volunteers who donate their time. ‘36-Hours for Kids’ could not happen without their dedication and support.”

Mix 98.1 hosts Wicker, Wilde, Kat Simons and Zach, along with John Reid and Jeff Katz from Newsradio WRVA, broadcast live from the Mix 98.1 studios on November 30 and December 1. The team helped raise critical dollars for the region’s children’s hospital through sharing amazing stories of hope and healing by area families who have received care and support at CHoR.

This year, the 36-Hours for Kids Radiothon, in partnership with friends at NBC 12 (WWBT), raised funds through pledges, cash, sponsorships and sustained giving to support the completion of the Wonder Tower, CHoR’s new home for inpatient and emergency care. Thus far, Audacy Richmond is responsible for a total contribution of $958,758 raised for the Wonder Tower.
