Audacy Launches "Fridays with Frankie"
Beginning today, Audacy will air “Fridays with Frankie,” a limited-edition series hosted by LGBTQ+ icon and friend of CHANNEL Q Frankie Grande.
Each episode will feature a different topic and will be live aired on Audacy’s digital platform 8:00 a.m. ET and replayed until midnight ET. The show will also air across Audacy’s CHANNEL Q’s network of stations nationwide.
Episode 1 – “Red White and Q” – out now, focuses on the state of LGBTQ politics in this era of Don’t Say Gay. Frankie approaches these topics with his usual upbeat attitude and discovers ways for the queer community to come together and fight the good fight. Guests include Biden campaign advisor and CHANNEL Q’s new Director of Political Programming Ryan Basham; President and CEO of GLAAD Sarah-Kate Ellis; Pennsylvania’s first out and current State representative Brian Simms, who shares thoughts on the state recently passing a ban on conversion therapy; and, the iconic Danica Roem, Virginia’s first out trans state delegate, who touches on the state of the nation on trans rights.
Episode 2: “Broadway’s Baaack Baby!” Dropping October 14, this episode shines the spotlight on some of the queer community’s favorite Broadway stars. Guests include queer icon and Tony Award winner for her role in “Hairspray,” Melissa Jarrett Winokur; “Pose” and “American Horror Story” actress Angelica Ross, who will discuss her recent groundbreaking casting as Roxi Heart in “Chicago” on Broadway; and Tye Blue, the creator and director of the smash off-Braodway queer hit “Titanique.”
