Entercom Offsets 100% of The Carbon Emissions From Their Corporate Office by Planting 236 Trees

Lower Merion, PA – Over forty employees of Entercom’s corporate office planted 236 trees in Lower Merion Township’s Rolling Hill Park in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. The tree planting was part of Entercom’s 1Thing Initiative and the company’s Make a Difference Day and will completely offset their corporate offices carbon emissions in perpetuity.
“Planting 236 trees makes an environmental difference that will last a lifetime,” said Jaimie Field, Entercom Director of Sustainability. “Every Entercom market across the country truly makes a difference in their community. This year we were thrilled to combine our successful 1Thing Initiative with our local Make a Difference Day. Thanks to everyone who turned out to plant 236 trees and make our community and our environment better place.”
“Rolling Hill hasn’t had much planting in the last several years. It was time to do something special here,” said Lower Merion Conversancy Director Patty Thompson. “This is a lot of bang for the buck, a small number of people doing a very large project. Thanks to Entercom for truly making a difference.”
Entercom partnered with the Lower Merion Conservancy on the project and the Conservancy worked directly with Lower Merion Township to identify the types of trees that were best for Rolling Hill Park. Six types of trees were selected for planting sweet gum, black gum, sweet birch, swamp white oak, Carolina silver bell and American basswood.
