Every day, Audacy connects with 200 million consumers through its exclusive, premium audio content and is committed to connecting with its local communities in the 47 markets the company operates in by promoting the health and vibrancy of those communities. By supporting causes that meet the diverse needs of our listeners, Audacy aims to build lasting, loyal relationships with our audiences and create a meaningful difference at scale.

As part of Audacy’s Sound Communities initiatives and the company’s overall Social Impact strategy, the company supports back-to-school fundraisers and drives across several local markets. Here is a look at the amazing work being done across the country –

Baltimore, MD

Mix 106.5 FM (WWMX-FM) and Today’s 101.9 FM (WLIF-FM) are teaming up with the Salvation Army of Central Maryland and Zips Dry Cleaners for the second annual “Tools 4 Schools” fundraiser to collect back-to-school supplies and clothing. From August 5 to August 17, listeners will be instructed to visit participating Zips Dry Cleaners to drop off their donations. The Salvation Army of Central Maryland will distribute the items to schools in the Baltimore metro area so students in need can access them.

Greenville, SC

The Block 96.3 (WFBC-HD2) hosted “QL’s Back 2 School Block Party Tour” over three dates in July and August. Presented by Absolute Total Care, the events gave away free school supplies, backpacks, t-shirts, gift cards, and refreshments. Jerome Rice, the Mayor of Spartanburg, and local influencers including Lovely Big O, Reggie Rocc, and Theory joined The Block’s QL to give away more than 1,500 backpacks! Attendees played games, received free haircuts, and walked away with everything they needed for the upcoming school year.

Kansas City, MO

98.1 FM KMBZ (KMBZ-FM ) has partnered with Pinnacle Bank to raise money to buy school supplies for students attending The Ignition Lab at Operation Breakthrough, a workforce development program where 200 students ages 14 to 18 spend time each week gaining real-world experience in fields ranging from culinary arts to automotive to engineering.

The money collected will provide necessary back-to-school items like notebooks, pens, pencils, backpacks, and hygiene items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and non-perishable food items.

The Ignition Lab is powered by Eighty-Seven & Running, a nonprofit started by the KC Chiefs’ Travis Kelce.

Las Vegas, NV

98.5 FM KLUC (KLUC-FM) and Mix 94.1 (KMXB-FM) participated in the third annual Back-to-School Fair on August 3 with Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones, the Jeremiah Program, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Office of Community Engagement. Children received free school supplies, backpacks, and haircuts, as well as community resources, vaccines, and health screenings.

98.5 FM KLUC also stopped by the Clark County School Drive on July 27 to provide musical entertainment and give away prizes.

Pittsburgh, PA

100.7 Star (WBZZ-FM) hosted Bazzy and Bubba’s Backpack Brigade, collecting school supplies and essentials for students who may not have access to them. This year’s drive brought in $109,000 worth of supplies, with nearly 3,000 backpacks donated. The fundraiser began in 2019 and has raised more than $672,000 worth of support for school children.

Sacramento, CA

102.5 KSFM (KSFM-FM) was part of the fourth annual Back to School Drive benefiting Propel Project. Donations were made at dedicated locations around the Sacramento area. The school supplies will be sent to the Twin Rivers School District and surrounding districts for students in need this school year.

106.5 The End (KUDL-FM) is partnering with Roseville Hyundai for the Back to School Teacher Award! From August 12 to August 23, listeners can nominate a teacher in their community who they feel deserves recognition. Three teachers will each win a grand prize of $1,000 to use in their classroom.
