Audacy and Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions Launch Scripted Podcast Series “Say More with Dr? Sheila” as Part of New Division, Paper Kite Podcasts
In the First of a Three-Season Scripted Comedy Franchise From Paper Kite Podcasts, Poehler Stars as a Fictional Therapist with Questionable Methods and Credentials
PHILADELPHIA, PA – September 20, 2023 – Today, Audacy announced that the all-new podcast, “Say More with Dr? Sheila,” starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning writer, actress, producer, and director Amy Poehler, will launch on Thursday, September 21 on the Audacy app and everywhere podcasts are available. New episodes will be released weekly through November 16. Listen to the trailer now here and follow the show here.
The series will be the first in a three-season original scripted comedy podcast franchise from Audacy and Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions, under the Paper Kite Podcasts banner, with executive producer Liz Cackowski.
The franchise will feature stories that parody and pay homage to popular themes in the podcast space. The second and third installments of the Paper Kite Podcasts franchise are slated to launch in 2024, including a female-led true crime series and a male-hosted and interview-driven show. Each character and story will live in the same, interwoven universe.
“Dr? Sheila has changed my life,” said Amy Poehler. “She also owes me a considerable amount of money. But if I have learned anything from listening to ‘Say More’ it’s the fact that people are complicated.”
“We are huge fans and listeners of podcasts in every genre. Love self-help podcasts, love true crime, love the celebrity interview show, all of it,” said Cackowski. “And as comedians, we show our love through parody, which perhaps is something the next self-help podcast can help me work through. We’re excited to partner with Audacy to bring this series to life.”
“We could not be more thrilled to partner with Amy to launch the first installment in the Paper Kite Podcasts slate and realize the creative vision she has and to invite listeners into the brilliant and hilarious universe she and Liz have brought to life, beginning with Dr? Sheila in ‘Say More,’” said Jenna Weiss-Berman, Executive Vice President, Podcasts, Audacy. “Amy and Liz have created a masterful, satirical love letter to their favorite podcast genres.”
