Audacy’s “I’m Listening” Broadcast Shines a Light on Mental Health & The Power of Talk
Audacy, trusted companions and loyal friends to our listeners, deeply believes the power of talk saves lives.
At Audacy, we know that talk can be so much more than talk—it has the power to be life-changing. We’ve partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) for our 8th annual “I’m Listening” broadcast—to tackle mental health head-on, offering listeners a safe space to share their experiences and gain essential tools for mental wellness. The program encourages listeners to call in with their experiences, learn about mental wellness tools, and reinforces that mental health matters.

Why we talk about mental health
In a world where one in five adults live with mental illness but less than half receive treatment, open conversation can break the stigma. “I’m Listening” aims to normalize these discussions, helping people feel supported and understood.
During Mental Health Awareness month, Google searches around mental health-related topics surge. In fact, finding a mental health counselor is one of the top search terms. Simply talking about mental health more in our everyday life makes people more inclined to share their experiences and reach out when they need support. This is the essence of Audacy’s “I’m Listening” broadcast. By giving airtime to mental health, we break down boundaries and share the lifesaving benefits of open communication.
