Audacy and Monumental Sports Announce Multi-Year Partnership Extension
106.7 The Fan Named the Flagship Home for the Washington Wizards and Remains the Flagship Home for the Washington Capitals
“BMitch and Finlay” to Simulcast on MNMT, Expanding Access Across Monumental Platforms
WASHINGTON D.C. – October 13, 2025 – Audacy and Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) have announced a multi-year extension of their broadcast and content partnership, ushering in a new era of expanded coverage across audio and video platforms.
106.7 The Fan (WJFK-FM) is now the flagship station for the Washington Wizards and continues as the flagship for the Washington Capitals. Select games – including Wizards broadcasts when both teams play – will also air on sister stations The Team 980 (WTEM-AM) and 99.1 WDCH (WDCH-FM).
Washington Mystics games will continue airing on 106.7 The Fan, The Team 980, 99.1 WDCH and 1580 The Bet (WJFK-AM). The broadcasts, including halftime reports, will feature live audio simulcasts from Monumental Sports Network’s (MNMT) television broadcast.
The fan-favorite “The Sports Junkies” show, which also simulcasts every weekday morning on MNMT, will now be available to watch live and on demand on 106.7 The Fan’s YouTube channel.
The partnership will also bring more of Audacy’s top-rated programming to MNMT. “BMitch and Finlay,” airing daily from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET, will now simulcast on MNMT starting November 3, offering D.C. sports fans even more access to beloved local voices through MSE’s independent media platform. Like “The Sports Junkies,” the show will also be streamed via 106.7 The Fan’s YouTube channel, bringing more of the station’s top-rated content to a visual platform.
“We are excited to extend and expand our partnership with Monumental Sports to enhance the listening and viewing experience for fans,” said Ivy Savoy-Smith, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Washington D.C. “Being the flagship station for the Wizards and Capitals solidifies our position as the top destination for D.C. sports fans. Through the expansion of our television and YouTube simulcast, we are creating more dynamic content for our audiences.”
“At Monumental, serving our fans with high-quality, around-the-clock programming is our top priority,” said Zach Leonsis, President of Media & New Enterprises, MSE. “This expanded partnership with Audacy allows us to bring even more of the content fans love—across radio, TV, and digital platforms—whenever and wherever they want it. We’re excited to continue growing our reach and impact with dynamic, fan-first sports coverage throughout the DMV region.”
Fans can listen to the Wizards wherever they are with all 82 regular season and three Wizards preseason games on the Washington Wizards Radio Network. 106.7 The Fan serves as the flagship for the ten-station Wizards Radio Network. Additionally, all games are broadcast on Wizards Radio 24/7 and are available on the Wizards App or wizardsradio247.com. Each Wizards radio broadcast will be bookended by 15 minutes of pregame and 30 minutes of postgame coverage. Dave Johnson returns for his 29th season as the radio voice of the Wizards and is joined by analyst Glenn Consor, who is entering his 19th season. Former Georgetown star Chris Wright, MNMT’s Chase Hughes, and Bryan Albin will provide additional coverage for the games and Wizards Radio 24/7.
The Capitals Radio Network will provide live audio of every game this season. 106.7 The Fan, one of the region’s strongest radio signals, will again serve as the flagship station of the network. The Capitals Radio Network includes 14 different stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. Play-by-play announcer John Walton will return for his 15th season calling the action, while former Capital Ken Sabourin enters his 23rd season as analyst.
Capitals Radio Network coverage will include 15 minutes of pregame and 30 minutes of postgame coverage, highlighted by player interviews and live audio of head coach Spencer Carbery’s postgame press conference. The pregame and postgame shows will be hosted by Katie Florio. Debuting this season is the new weekly show, “Capitals Saturday Faceoff,” hosted by Walton. The show will air every Saturday morning from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. ET on 106.7 The Fan. It will also be available on the Caps Radio Network Podcast Channel, which features shows such as Caps This Morning, Afternoon ReCAP, and Line Change, offering fans comprehensive coverage of the Capitals throughout the season.
In addition to MNMT’s Capitals, Wizards, and Mystics coverage and simulcasts of popular 106.7 The Fan programming, the network is the exclusive local television media rights holder for the NBA G League’s Capital City Go-Go. It also proudly boasts a comprehensive schedule of original programming and live college football, basketball, lacrosse, and volleyball, high school basketball, esports, as well as Washington Spirit (NWSL) and Old Glory DC (Major League Rugby) games. In total, MNMT aired close to 500 total games during the 2024-25 season, an all-time high.
