From Bad Axe, MI to Paris: Audacy’s Bru Tracks Journey
Audacy’s national host shares what it’s like prepping for the 2024 Paris Olympics
Bru is going international for the biggest sporting spectacle in the world. While continuing his daily radio show for Audacy, he’s stamped his passport and is off to Paris to host a nightly digital show on NBC’s social platforms.
Pulling double duty is an Olympic feat itself, but there’s no doubt the “CEO of Radio TikTok” will shine on the world stage.
Before his trip, Bru chats about what he’s excited to see and experience, what has taken his broadcasting career from Michigan to Paris, and which Olympic sport he’d take a crack at.
What can you tell us about what you’ll be doing for NBC to cover the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris?
I will be moving to Paris from July 23 to August 11! European summer, here I come! During my time there, I will be hosting a digital show every night from the Team USA House on all NBC social platforms. For an hour, I’ll recap the day’s highlights and lowlights, feature Olympian interviews, interact with viewers, and play games, all in front of a live studio audience.
What are your emotions around covering the biggest sporting spectacle in the world?
I am a lifelong sports fan. When I started my broadcasting career, the goal was to do sports. I shifted to music and have been there ever since. To hop into the sports realm and work the biggest sports spectacle is a dream come true. I don’t think I’ve slept in five days; I’m so excited.
You got your start in radio in Bad Axe, Michigan, and now you’re covering the Olympics in Paris! How would you describe your career trajectory?
It’s hard to put into words the journey to where I’ve ended up. All I can say is I’m so grateful for the opportunities that have come my way. If you would’ve asked Bad Axe Bru if he’d end up working at the Olympics one day, he’d probably have said ‘yes of course’!
Looking back, I don’t know what would have possibly given me the confidence to feel that way, but I do believe I wouldn’t be where I am if I didn’t dream big at the start of my broadcasting career!
What are you most excited to see and do at the Olympics?
My goal is to be as present as possible! I’ll be doing my normal radio show daily for Audacy, covering the Olympics, and hosting the nightly NBC show. The days will be packed from start to finish, but I want to make sure I soak in my first Olympics.
Which Olympic event is the top of your list to cover?
My first Olympic memories were the 2008 Beijing Games with the iconic swimming of Michael Phelps, track star Usain Bolt, and the Redeem Team in basketball…so those sports, to me, are a must-see, along with gymnastics and beach volleyball.
Some of the stories I’ve had the joy to cover that really resonated with me are from the athletes competing in the Paralympic games! What these athletes do is so inspiring, and I think everyone should watch and support our Paralympians this year!
If you had to participate in an Olympic sport, which would you choose?
Let’s be honest; I’m getting cooked in every single one LOL. If I had to choose – stick me on the court with Steph Curry. I’m decently tall and played basketball growing up. Plus, it gives me the chance to meet all these icons. Hi Lebron!

What else is on your bucket list while you’re in France?
I am so excited to continue my partnership with Ralph Lauren and attend a few of their signature events! I’ve also heard pin trading is massive during the Olympics between all the countries? I’m about to pretend it’s a Taylor Swift concert and trade so many pins with people. I can’t wait! Au revoir!
You can listen to Bru daily weekdays from 7PM-12AM and Saturdays 3-7PM on the Audacy App and across Audacy Pop stations. You can follow along with him on socials @bruontheradio.
