Alex Donati knows Pride’s not just a party. It’s a stand for her and her community.

Donati – better known as DJ Alex D to listeners – holds down “In The Mix with DJ Alex D” on Friday and Saturday nights and hosts a new music Monday show for CHANNEL Q.

Alex was raised in the Bay area and began her radio career at 18. Outside of her hosting duties, she’s nationwide DJing parties, events, and Pride festivals.

She feels CHANNEL Q offers her a unique platform to reach out to her community.

“It also allows me to give back and let our voices be heard,” she says.

Those voices don’t begin or end with Pride month. Alex feels that while it’s important to take the time to recognize the struggle and joy, and contributions of the queer community, the lived reality for LGBTQ+ people is 365 days a year. She encourages colleagues to help lift her community’s voices and messages outside of June.

“We fight every single day, and it doesn’t just go away because it’s Pride month,” she says.

CHANNEL Q aids her in the fight by giving her a platform to speak to her community and allies. And she’s looking forward to the continued support within Audacy to help that platform thrive.
