Audacy’s 1010 WINS and WCBS 880 Launch It’s OK to Say Gay Podcast

To celebrate Pride Month, Audacy’s 1010 WINS (WINS-AM), the most-listened-to news station in the country, and WCBS 880 (WCBS-AM) are launching It’s OK to Say Gay, a new LGBTQIA+ podcast focused on various topics affecting the LGBTQIA+ community.

Hosted by 1010 WINS and WCBS 880’s managing producer of podcasts Femi Redwood, It’s OK to Say Gay will celebrate LGBTQIA+ voices during an era in which proposed “Don’t Say Gay” and anti-trans laws are proliferating across the U.S. Redwood will hold conversations that get allies to listen, and feature engaging interviews, inclusive storytelling and informative deep dives into societal issues.

“As some LGBTQ people feel like they’re being forced back into the closet due to legislation like the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bills, queer and trans voices are more important than ever before,” said Redwood. “With humor and honesty, the new It’s OK To Say Gay podcast brings together diverse voices across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum that rarely get to be heard.”

Some of the stories covered will include:

Redwood has more than a decade of experience as a journalist and is a board member at NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists. She is also co-chair of the National Association of Black Journalists’ LGBTQ+ Task Force.

Its OK to Say Gay is available nationwide via the Audacy app and website.
